Taping Begins...

My Bro-In-Law and I have been taping and masking all of the trim work so we can 2 tone this weekend.  My fab Dad and The Hubs come and help us each night after they get off of work.
At first, I thought that taping felt pretty therapeutic- I had my tunes on, no kids running around- just me and my thoughts...  And then the heat and never ending blue tape happened.
It was rough.

It's not pretty, but it does the job.
It only took like 15 trips to Home Depot and Sherwin Williams.

Interior Paint

1 tone paint is complete inside!

We chose Kindling Wood from Kwal.
It looks a little gray and a little taupe in certain lights which is just what I wanted!

Hardy Board

They've been working on the exterior.
Doesn't it look great?

The dark gray color is called Pewter.
The lighter is called Mullion Gray,
but it looks like it has a bit of brown in it
which is exactly what I wanted.
I was really nervous that the brick wouldn't go with the other exterior colors we chose, but I think it looks fab!
I love what I'm seeing thus far!

Kitchen Organization

As The Hubs builds things, we store it at my parents' house.
Here's a glimpse of the kitchen (and a few bathroom parts) at this point.

Appliances, sink, bathroom vanity, extra tile.  You name it, it's there.
Bless my parents for letting us do this!

I think I did a pretty good job tidying things up!
Can you believe that is our kitchen and master bathroom vanity?

Heat and Exhaustion

We're trying to finish trim work up and get things ready for painting.

I really wanted things to be different and have style, character, and "be ours."
I requested that The Hubs put some paneling up in the dining nook.

We've been sanding edges in preparation for paint.

He routes the edges of the casing to prevent it from getting chipped too easily if it was a perfect right angle.  I would go back through and round over all of the edges.

Each day we try to get here early before the heat really hits.
Unfortunately, there is too much to do and not enough time, so we work through it.
Can I just say, it's hot!

Here's a glimpse of the roof- it's shingled!
They are getting ready to install the hardy board on the exterior.

I had a dream- more like a vision- of me being hospitalized from exhaustion at this point.  I told The Hubs about it and all he said was, "No, you can't leave me yet.  We still have so much to do."
That pretty much sums up how it's going- NO REST FOR THE WEARY!
